It’s no secret that Hotwire.com offers great discounted hotel deals, but did you know there’s a way to reveal Hotwire’s hot rate hotel and resorts.
For anyone who is unfamiliar, Hotwire is a money saving travel website that focuses hotel and other various travel deals. Today we’re specifically discussing Hot Rate deals, which are Hotwire’s hotel offers with major savings. These specific deals tell you the price, show you how much you’d be saving, but don’t tell you what hotel you’d be staying at until after you book. Instead Hotwire shows three different hotel options of what it could be, and then basically you get that surprise uncovered after payment. I don’t know about you but I want to know what I’m booking prior to putting my credit card information in, especially when it’s nonrefundable. I like surprises, but not that much. Anyways this is a hack that will allow you to reveal Hotwire’s Hot Rate hotel or resort before you pay.
What you want to do is put the information into the search fields for the location and dates you desire. Then once the options come up pick a Hot Rate that’s in your price range. Using the example in the TikTok video below it was a 4-star hotel at a rate of $134 a night. When you click the link for this and open the page connected to this deal, three different hotel possibilities pop up–the point of this is that one of these will end up being your hotel connected with that $134 a night deal but typically you wouldn’t find out until after you book. One way to reveal it ahead of booking is by reloading the page a few times, each time the hotels should change but one usually stays consistent every time. From this trick you can usually conclude which hotel is the secret hot rate deal, however we can take it a step further to confirm.
Hotwire is powered by Expedia, so if you go over to their site you can usually match the hidden hotel with the information you already have provided. For example, how much the original price of the room is per night without the deal, and where it is located / the distance it is from specific landmarks. In this case, Hotwire tells us the secret hotel is located closest to Cabo Bello Beach at 0.2 miles away, when we looked up Sirena del Mar on Expedia and looked at the location we found out the hotel itself is located in the Cabo Bello neighborhood, further confirming what we already concluded which is that Sirena del Mar was our hidden Hotwire Hot Rate hotel.
This is how to successfully uncover Hotwire’s secret hotels. Let me know if you try this out, and let’s travel better together!
